 REVIVE  THY  CHURCH,  O' LORD !

Please enjoy the following prayer written by my Mentor and FCC Pastor Emeritus, .......               This ' ORIGINAL ' prayer was written on a train en route to the Northern Baptist Theological Seminary EVANGELISM Conference in Chicago, ... 1967.

With pastor's 'poetic prowess', this prayer/hymn may be sung to "Rise Up O Men of God"  OR   "I Love Thy Kingdom, Lord".

" WILL THOUGH NOT REVIVE US AGAIN, that thy people may rejoice in thee ?"                            ...... ( Psalm 86:6 )

( REVIVE THY CHURCH, O LORD ! )

REVIVE thy Church, O' Lord,

Send down thy holy fire"

instill in us Thy blessed word

and every soul inspire.

REBUKE thy church, O' Lord,

for careless unconcern;

Let God in Christ in us adored,

Our hearts for sinners yearn.

REMOLD they church, O' Lord,

We pray thy spirit fill

Each heart in Love to thee outpoured,

to do thy perfect will.

RESTORE thy church, O' Lord,

With Pentacostal power;

Thy truth is girded as a sword

'gainst wrongs and fears this hour.

RECEIVE thy church, O' Lord,

perfect us by thy grace:

grant love and peace with ONE accord,

O'er all the human race.     AMEN !
